  • General Purpose/Summary of Job

    The CAD/Space Management Associate is responsible for production of AutoCAD based floor plans and related space (area) management activities to provide lease plans and rentable area calculations that support leasing, property management and accounting functions within the organization. 


    The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as a team member, on multiple projects, providing a high degree of quality & continuity in delivered services.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Draft and maintain revisions for CAD plans of all properties across the Vornado portfolio
    • Assist in maintaining the space management database for all plan and area calculation updates
    • Prepare/provide area calculation models for prospective tenant occupancies
    • Field verify tenant demising partition configurations as necessary
    • Prepare/review multi-tenant corridor layouts, subdivide plans & area calculations
    • Prepare Lease Exhibit Plans
    • Field survey/verify and provide “As-Built” plan updates for existing tenant spaces
    • Prepare “Pre-Built” space layout plans for marketing
    • Coordinate activities of various outside CAD/drafting/survey consultants & incorporate results with in-house CAD plans


    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong CAD drafting skills – current version AutoCAD experience required.
    • In-depth knowledge of “REBNY” and “BOMA” area measurement methods
    • Working knowledge of applicable building codes and ADA requirements
    • Perform efficient, independent field surveys/verifications.
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Ability to prioritize and multi-task while still exhibiting good judgment and poise in a fast-paced supporting role environment
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Must be able to work both independently and as a team member
    • Organized, efficient and able to work under pressure. 
    • Must be willing to work in our NY office a few times per month. 




    • College (Bachelor’s) Degree in Architecture or related (architecture/interiors/engineering/construction or facilities) field
    • 1-2 years of hands-on architecture & real estate related CAD production and space accounting experience.
